Senior Engine Control & Calibration Engineer
Location: East Peoria, IL
Full time (onsite)


Primary Responsibilities of the Senior Engineer:

  • Lead a team to develop model/control strategies for a diesel fuel injection system.
  • Design digital filters to perform signal conditioning of various sensors.
  • Run experimental activities in the lab (instrumentation, test, and data acquisition).
  • Assist team to create automation in the simulation and code generation domains.
  • Develop algorithms and test implementations using Matlab/Simulink.
  • Analyze, Refine and Decompose system-level requirements using closed-loop simulations with plant models and/or with experimental analysis.
  • Collaborate with various engineers to meet requirements and validate the algorithm's capability and robustness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional and cross-regional teams.

 

Required Qualifications & Experience of the Senior Engineer:

  • 7+ years modeling and tuning digital controllers in multiple applications.
  • 2+ years in RCP (Rapid control Prototyping) controls development and techniques to validate controls.
  • 5+ years in Simulink applied to Model-Based Control Design, V Process (From Design to Verification and Validation.
  • Logic model development using complex controls: Multiple Inputs - Multiple Outputs (MIMO), Single Input-Single Output (SISO), state-space representation, classical and modern control theory, and advanced estimators.
  • Bachelor Degree, preferred fields of study in Electronics/Electrical.
  • Expert Knowledge of engine controls strategy for Fuel, Air, EGT & their interactions.
