Researches, studies, and proposes use of new technologies to be used in the development and application of new and improved products, systems, processes and capabilities.
Maintain effective communication with suppliers, internal and external customers, and outside resources concerning technical issues.
Communicate project objectives to team members.
Enforce the proper use of engineering criteria and standards. Ensure technical issues are conducted within the framework of company policies and procedures.
Evaluate mechanical, electrical, software and system designs for performance, safety, and reliability.
Develop detailed requirements and comprehensive test plans.
Direct support of suppliers and test programs to include travel to off-site locations as necessary to accomplish assigned engineering programs
Provide technical assistance for prototype, pilot, and build support.
Analyze and resolve issues reported to Engineering via verbal or written communication.
Provide direction to designers and drafters regarding engineering analysis.
Establish priorities for work delegated to others.
Prepare technical proposals, quotations, reports, and presentations.
Able to obtain a secret security clearance as required by job duties
Experience with robotics, computer vision, radar and/or LIDAR perception
Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge of vehicles and related systems
Strong verbal presentation and written communication skills

Excellent system engineering skills
Model-based programming experience
C/C++/C# programming experience
Experience with tactical radio implementation and integration
Experience with design/development of safety-critical systems/components
Experience with GPS and Inertial Measurement Units

Experience with agile software development practices
Experience with automotive electrical/electronic architectures, computer networking, vehicle networking
Understanding of functional safety (e.g., ISO 26262, IEC 61508, UL 4600, MIL-STD 882)
Experience with MATLAB/Simulink environment
Familiarity with tools such as Vector CANalyzer, dSPACE TargetLink, dSPACE ControlDesk
Familiarity with systems engineering and requirements management tools such as SysML, DOORS
Proficiency with CAN communication protocols and understanding of typical automotive interfaces
Familiarity with git version control
Bachelor's of Science in Engineering
3+ years of related experience or internship experience
Potential travel 30% of time
